These were the commercially successful movies that made over 100 crores (apparently, that’s the new bench mark that the bollywood movies are being judged against)!
1. Bol Bachchan by Rohit Shetty
2. Agneepath by Karan Malhotra (his directorial debut ).
3. Ek Tha Tiger by Kabir Khan
4. Barfi by Anurag Basu
5. Housefull 2 by Sajid Khan
6. Rowdy Rathore by Prabhudheva
7. Jab Tak Hai Jaan by Yash Chopra
8. Dabang 2 by Arbaaz Khan
9. Son of Sardar by Ajay Devgan (just about made it)
Although none of the movies from the above list was anywhere close to the highest ever grosser, ‘3 Idiots’ , a Vinod Chopra Production that grossed over 300 crores worldwide and over 200 crores in India in 2009, it is interesting to note that Salman Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and again, ‘Dabangg 2’ this year were the fastest movies to touch the 100-crore Nett gross mark, taking just 5 and 6 days respectively! His ‘Bodyguard’ had taken 7 days in 2011 and Aamir Khan’s ‘3 Idiots’ had taken 9 days.
Talking of Salman Khan, even though not many people will openly admit to being his fan, he is the only bollywood actor who has 5 films in the elusive 100-crore club. Others in the club are Kareena Kapoor and Ajay Devgan with 4 each, Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra with 3 each and Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif with 2 each!
